The weight

Probably the biggest change I've seen in myself since arriving in Taiwan is weight loss. As you can see some the photo, my belt has gotten a lot longer in the three months I've been here. The diagram to the left shows how my belt has changed position since i've arrived.

There are a few reasons for this. With the exception of tonight (Some friends from work and I went to Willy's Second Base (a local pub run by a Canadian dude) and had my first real hamburger since arriving here.... It was almost orgasmic...), I am eating mainly local Taiwanese food. I have only had McDonalds maybe 5 times since I've arrived here - this is from eating fast food 5-6 times a week back home. As well, I am only eating maybe once or twice a day - my appetite pretty much flew out the window.

On a good note, I don't have school tomorrow (wednesday) on account it's Tomb Sweeping Day (a national holiday). Since I have no tombs to sweep, I will be sweeping the dust off of my pillow and sleeping in.

Hopefully this trend keeps up... Hopefully I'll actually start to look good by the time my year is up!!!!

Wow! Is that a *real* Kaiser chocolate bar! On the back of the package is says: "KAISER chocolate is made from such best quality. Please enjoy the KAISER chocolate which is pleasing your taste the most!". This bar costs $10 NT, and tastes exactly how a thirty-cent chocolate bar should taste, imported machinery not withstanding.



Finally a brand of bottled water that shares my flippant view on life



My favourite brand of gum!! It's even approved by the Finnish Dental Council (I'm guessing all Taiwanese gum must meet their stringent guidelines). Honestly, though.. it's excellent gum. It's "Apple Mint", and tastes great. I shudder to think how they make gum taste so good without using sugar.. God knows what chemicals I am eating every time I chew it...
