Guns n' Freakin' Roses

There has always been something about Guns n' Roses that I love. I don't know what it is, but to me they are one of the best groups of the late 80's. They were the neat transition from retarded 80's glam rock bands to a more 70's nostaglic-centered era of well-produced concert-rock. While some say that Use Your Illusion was too gimmicky, I thought that it was a good way to end a good career - considering they only produced three good albums in their long run (Appetite for Destruction and Use Your Illusion I and II - Their other two, GNR Lies and The Spaghetti Incident sucked).



My favourite video and favourite song - Sweet Child O' Mine. Everything from the 'Behind the Scenes' 8mm footage, to Izzy's windmill guitar strikes to the way Slash bangs the last note out of his guitar reeks of that late 80's cool that we all wished we had. Despite the fact this video is almost TWENTY years old, it still holds up well (it's so hard to believe that 1987 was so long ago..!!)

Anyhow... Enough waxing nostalgic about bands that were once great but are now shit (I mean, come on.. replacing Slash with BUCKETHEAD??) - here are some photos I once again pulled from my cell phone.

A lot of the teaching we do here is based on games - the class is always divided into two teams. This class likes to design and draw their own team logos on the whiteboard. This is "Team Candy", drawn by Vicki. How sweet and innocent....



This, on the otherhand is "Team Si Kung Long" (Death Dinosaur), drawn by Thomas. He's one sick kid (he's also the kid that, upon being given my camera to play with, immediatley ran to the bathroom to take a photo of the toilet).
