More photos from Kaohsiung

Some large ads and stores in Kaohsiung. A lot of advertising in Taiwan feature white people

Stephen and Carolyn, two teachers from Edmonton

Synagogue in downtown Kaohsiung

Zhongshan road

Erick, a fellow teacher from London, Ontario

Alice, the teacher-instructor at Sesame Street's main office in Kaohsiung

Michelle, a fellow teacher

It's smoke break time! Time to go to the roof to relax, catch some rays and admire the view 13 stories over Kaohsiung

Overhead view of a Kaoshiung intersection on Zhongshen Road. I am not sure what the markings on the road say, so it's best to just do what everyone else does when driving

Erick, Carolyn and Stephen hangin' over the ledge

Some houses and buildings in Kaohsiung. The strings of 3-4 storey buildings are common residences. Each strip is a single house, 3 to 4 stories high.

Erick conquers the mechanical room penthouse on the roof, frolicking among the cell phone transmitters.

Zhongshen road from the penthouse roof

Zhongshan Road, looking in the other direction

Erick living on the edge. Don't jump!!! Teaching English in Taiwan isn't that bad!!

Break over, back to school. The last day of training brought some heavy loads of demos. Busy busy at work

Teaching demo

I don't know.. what ARE you holding, Erick?

No Chodas for Aunt Jill...

You'll have to go elsewhere for that...!

But I'll ask the next time I see a "Betel nut and Choda" stand...

What's with the reverse swastikas on the synagogue?

Haha

It's not a Synagogue - it's a buddhist temple.

The swastika was used as a buddhist symbol thousands of years before the Nazis came along. There are swastikas all over Taiwan, all buddhist in nature.

The Synagogue crack was a joke....As in why would a Synagogue be covered in Swastikas.. hehe
